Common questions to fuel a retirement vision

Even clients who are financially prepared for retirement may not be ready for the change in lifestyle. By encouraging advance planning, you can help them find meaning in their later years as you ensure their financial plan supports their choices. Ask them to consider: 
What age do you plan to retire? What might impact that decision? Will you and your spouse retire at the same time?
Where do you plan to live? If you stay local, will you keep your current residence?
Which activities will fill your time? Will you plan to work part-time or volunteer?
Who do you expect to spend time with as a retiree? Will you have friends or family nearby?
Is there anything special you’d like to accomplish during retirement?
